Forum Title: Non-standard top pivot guide for bifold door
The top pivot guide for my bifold door is made complete out of plastic. It is cylindrical in shape for the most part with a narrow neck and a stub for the head that sits in the top overhead track. This stub broke off and now the side of the bifold door is no longer secured and is flapping around. I went to Home Depot, Lowes and a neighborhood hardware store. I could not find a replacement. All they have are spring loaded metallic pivot guides. What can I repair this door short of replacing it completely?

Prehung interior doors and frames can easily be cut to fit, even raised panel doors. But you will need to remove old trim and jambs and start from scratch. Before you do that, remove the trim inside the closet and make sure what your rough opening is. The get the new door 1 1/2-2 less. Don't worry about the height, as I said earlier.

AAA is the best source I have found. They carry the entire Prime-Line catalog..which is the largest maker of replacement parts for these kinds of things... Even Prime-Line themselves recommended them to me....
